One Last Splash at Hurricane Bay

Summer’s not over until you say it is, and there’s no better place to celebrate than Kentucky Kingdom’s Hurricane Bay Water Park. Open Saturday and Sunday from 11 AM to 6 PM EST and Monday from 10 AM to 6 PM EST, this splash-filled oasis is packed with water rides and chill zones for every age.

Start with a family favorite like Adventure River, a high-speed twist on the classic lazy river that delivers splashes at every turn. Or, take a ride on Deep Water Dive, one of the tallest body slides in the country, offering a nearly vertical drop for adrenaline junkies.

Need something just a little less intense? Try Mega Wedgie, a 100-foot-long tunnel that plunges into a giant bowl! Families with younger kids will love Buccaneer Beach, with interactive features and gentle slides that let the little ones in on the fun.

And don’t skip Tornado, where you’ll rise seven stories and plunge into a giant funnel, spinning around like you’ve been swept into a summer storm. It’s the ultimate ride for groups of four ready to scream together.

Ride Into the Long Weekend

Back on dry land, Kentucky Kingdom is open Saturday and Sunday from 11 AM to 7 PM EST and Monday from 10 AM to 7 PM EST, offering hours of thrills and attractions. No matter your speed, there’s something for everyone.

Craving big thrills? Don’t miss Wind Chaser, swoop through the sky like a mighty owl. Or race over to Lightning Run, which launches you into airtime-filled hills at thrilling speeds. Kentucky Flyer takes you through 12 turbulent airtime moments in 1280 feet of fun.

Younger guests and families will love Big Foot Trucks, where you can take a spin in mini monster trucks, or Mad Hatter and spin round and round in oversized tea cups.

Discover the Magic of Discovery Meadow

A highlight of the park’s newest expansion, Discovery Meadow, is a whimsical world built with young imaginations in mind. Kids can hop on Scout’s Squirrel Race, a ride that captures the playful spirit of everyone’s favorite park character, or spin through the gardens on the Seed Spinner—Robin Bloom’s fantastical invention.

Spring Fling is a gentle swinging ride in a whimsical floral garden clog, while Nature’s Bounty swings you in a high-flying swinging boat. It’s all nestled among vibrant landscaping, shady spots for parents to relax, and plenty of room to explore.

Meet the Stars of Discovery Meadow

One of the most enchanting parts of Labor Day Weekend? The chance to meet the woodland residents of Discovery Meadow. Every day of the long weekend, you can join Robin Bloom and her furry sidekick, Scout the Squirrel, for hugs, photos, and surprises.

Whether it’s your first time meeting Scout the Squirrel or your kids already know Robin’s whole backstory, these moments are sure to be a hit.

All that riding and splashing builds up an appetite. When it’s time to take a break and refuel, Swampwater Jack’s is the spot to go. This themed dining destination offers chicken tenders, burgers, fries, and a variety of cold drinks to keep your crew going strong. The indoor seating gives you a chance to cool off, rest your feet, and prepare for round two.

Want to satisfy your sweet tooth? Swing by Twisted for giant hand-rolled pretzels, or Surf Side Shaved Ice to cool down with a colorful frozen treat.

Send Off Summer the Right Way

The return to routines, backpacks, and alarm clocks is right around the corner. But for now? There’s still time to ride, slide, and play together. Whether you’re making a splash, soaring through the sky, or spinning with joy, Labor Day Weekend at Kentucky Kingdom is your ticket to one last unforgettable family moment this summer.
