Louisville, KY.— Kentucky Kingdom, Louisville’s hometown theme and water park, will soon welcome guests back to Hurricane Bay for the 2024 season. Hurricane Bay opens Saturday, May 25, kicking off Kentucky Kingdom’s daily operations for the summer. Park-goers of all ages can cool off at Hurricane Bay by relaxing in a cabana, floating along the Castaway Creek lazy river, getting soaked in the Splash Zone, and embarking on exciting twists and turns on every water slide! The new season also includes first-of-its-kind special events, including the celebration of spring, summer, and color with Petal Palooza!

Hurricane Bay welcomes back top-notch performances this season from local musicians like Will Wright, Lyndsey Henken, Lunar Beach House, and more at the fan-favorite Sound Waves Stage. Plus, visit on June 8 for Kentucky Kingdom’s first ever Silent Disco in partnership with Louisville Silent Disco! With the all-new Petal Palooza, May 25- June 30, park-goers will admire the colorful florals strewn across the park and guests can also catch a glimpse of a live muralist at work, enjoy six live flower walls, and admire the pool noodle sky! Additionally, runners of all ages can see Kentucky Kingdom in a new light at its first ever Color Run! Dash through the park with a vibrant display of beautiful colors and florals.
Starting Thursday, July 4, guests can soar, splash, and kick off the Fourth of July weekend with a BOOM! Kentucky Kingdom’s all-new Red, White, and Bluegrass Bash commemorates Independence Day weekend with daily fireworks and the tastes and sounds of Bluegrass. The fireworks continue every Saturday in July with the return of Summer Blast, Kentucky Kingdom’s incredible fireworks show that illuminates the park in a magical fiery light!
