As a long-time employee at Kentucky Kingdom, one of my favorite parts of the job is getting to play a role, however discrete, in helping families create memories that last a lifetime. Kids only get so many summer vacations, so watching them spend their days at the park, whether it’s with friends from school, parents, siblings, or the whole extended family, is incredibly meaningful to me and the rest of the Kentucky Kingdom team. As a behind-the-scenes host, I’m so grateful to create an environment that ensures visitors will want to come back time and time again. Every host from top to bottom is committed to cultivating the best experience for every visitor, day in and day out.
At Kentucky Kingdom, we know how precious your summer vacations are. We know that many of our visitors, especially our families, use their select few days off in the summer as opportunities to spend quality time with their loved ones. We recognize how important this is and do everything we can to help everyone make the most of their summer break.
This summer is no exception. In fact, we have more unique offerings than ever, allowing families and visitors of all ages to enjoy a unique trip to Kentucky Kingdom every time they come out to the park.

This year, with the introduction of Floral Frenzy, we’ve been thrilled to watch children and families light up as they experience the magic of the colors and florals surrounding them as they explore the park. Visitors have glowed watching the live muralist create her beautiful art, gasped at the gravity-defying tricks of the Color Blast Stunt Show, and excitedly breathed in the freshness of the live flower walls. We put a ton of work into it, and it has sure paid off.
Witnessing all these meaningful moments reminds us of our mission at Kentucky Kingdom: Bringing Families Together by Creating Memories Worth Repeating®.
Through the rest of the season, we’re committed to helping families continue to maximize their summer days and beyond! There are so many exciting opportunities to celebrate at Kentucky Kingdom.
Floral Frenzy will continue through June, with many fun events sprinkled throughout. Visit through the rest of the month to soak up the atmosphere of bright, happy colors, beautiful florals, and unique installations. Plus, come see us on June 8 for our first ever Silent Disco in partnership with Louisville Silent Disco, and register for the Color Run on June 29 to be splashed in a vibrant display of colorful powders while dashing through the park!
Even after Floral Frenzy is over, we have so many more exciting events through the summer! In July, visit us for the Red, White, and Bluegrass Bash from July 4-6, where we’ll celebrate the Fourth of July weekend with live music, daily fireworks, and the unique flavors of Kentucky. Kentucky Blue, state-favorite bluegrass brand for more than 20 years, will serenade the park with the sounds of acoustic guitar, five-string banjo, mandolin, fiddle, upright bass, guitar, and vocals. We’re working around the clock to bring this to life, so we hope you join us! Together, we will sing, dance, and enjoy!
Plus, share in the joy every Saturday in July with the return of Summer Blast. Each weekend, families can gather to take advantage of the park’s extended hours and admire 10-minute-long explosive fireworks show that illuminates the park in vivid color. Why limit fireworks to the 4th of July? At Kentucky Kingdom, you have many opportunities to “ooh” and “ahh” under the sky, no holiday necessary, ensuring memories to last a lifetime.
