At Kentucky Kingdom, fun is for everyone. Whether you're visiting with a mobility aid, a sensory sensitivity, or a family member with special needs, the park is committed to creating an experience that’s welcoming, supportive, and accessible to all.

This guide is here to help you plan ahead and feel confident about your day at the park, from rides and rest spots to thoughtful accommodations that ensure every guest can join in on the fun.

Accessibility at a Glance

Kentucky Kingdom Theme & Water Park is committed to creating an inclusive experience for all guests. For visitors with mobility needs, the park offers:

  • ADA-accessible parking located near the front gate (Gate 2 or 4 entry recommended)
  • Wheelchair and ECV rentals available on a first-come, first-served basis at Wheels 4 Rent near the front gate
  • Accessible restrooms throughout the park
  • Ride accessibility and rider requirement guides to help guests make informed decisions about which attractions are most suitable

Service animals are welcome in accordance with ADA guidelines. Guests are encouraged to review federal standards for service animals at www.ada.gov/service_animals_2010.htm.

For questions about specific attractions, the Accessibility & Rider Requirement Guide is available online and at Guest Services to assist guests in planning a safe and comfortable visit.

Sensory-Friendly Planning Tips

Kentucky Kingdom welcomes guests with sensory sensitivities and encourages thoughtful planning to ensure a positive experience. While the park does not currently offer designated quiet rooms or sensory-specific areas, there are a few ways guests can prepare for a more comfortable visit:

  • Know the Sensory Environment: Guests should be aware of sensory stimuli throughout the park, including loud ride sounds, music, large crowds, bright lights, pyrotechnics, and fireworks on select evenings (beginning at 9:45 PM).
  • Bring Your Own Sensory Supports: Visitors are welcome to bring personal comfort items such as noise-canceling headphones, fidget tools, or other sensory aids to help manage stimulation.
  • Visit the Accessibility Center: Located at Guest Services near the Front Gate, this is a great first stop. Hosts are available to help guests and families make informed decisions for a smoother visit.
  • Plan Strategically: To avoid peak crowd levels, consider arriving early in the day and taking midday breaks as needed. Reviewing the park map and entertainment schedule ahead of time can help you navigate the day in a way that best suits your group’s needs.

Planning Ahead with the Guest Assistance Program

Guests with accessibility needs are encouraged to visit Guest Services upon arrival to discuss available accommodations. Our Hosts can provide guidance on accessible entrances, ride transfer information, and supportive resources to help ensure a smooth, comfortable visit based on individual needs.

You can find our Rider Requirements and Accessibility Guide here.
