August 2015 - The anticipation of the gut-sinking drops, twists and turns of a roller coaster are brought to another level with the soon-to-be sixth iBox track-designed Storm Chaser. This ride gives visitors the old-school feel of a wooden coaster except using steel allows for thrill elements not be possible on a wood-only model.
Slated to open in 2016, Storm Chaser began life in 1998 as Twisted Twins, a double-tracked dueling wooden roller coaster designed by Custom Coasters International. “It has been lying dormant for a long time, having previously been closed by Six Flags,” says John Mulcahy, director of marketing and communication at Kentucky Kingdom and Hurricane Bay in Louisville.
